Challenge
Executives from five different operating units of a software company wanted to identify the essential leadership skills needed to achieve three-year strategic goals.
Solution
- Used Lominger International’s Leadership Architect® to conduct competency modeling sessions for executive teams in five business units and identified key leadership competencies needed to deliver on their strategic goals.
- Compared the five operating unit competency models and created a common leadership development model for the organization.
- Designed and facilitated a management training and coaching program to develop the skills in the common competency model.
Results
- All five operating units had both a unique and a common leadership competency model to use for developing and hiring their leaders.
- Managers at all levels in the organization used these competency models as a guide for their talent management practices.
- Executives and managers demonstrated significant skill level improvement in key competency areas.
