Challenge
Climate survey results for a healthcare software organization showed employees wanted more feedback, coaching, skill development, and career opportunity. Company executives and Human Resources wanted to provide managers with training and tools to help them better support and promote their employees’ development.
Solution
- Created and delivered a coaching course for all levels of management.
- Designed on-the-job coaching and career development tools for managers.
- Provided coaching to executives, managers, and high potentials using Lominger’s VOICES® 360º feedback.
- Added goals in managers’ performance appraisal to increase accountability for coaching and delivering feedback to employees throughout the year.
Results
- Coaching classes were always full, and course ratings were consistently high.
- Post-evaluations for Lominger’s VOICES® 360º feedback and coaching engagements showed managers reported increased self-awareness, skill development, business performance, career focus, and ability to create and implement their own and others’ development plans.
- Subsequent climate survey results (administered two years later) showed improvement in the number of employees who received regular and constructive feedback from their managers.
